The Links at Summerly is an 18-hole public course located in Lake Elsinore, California.
The Links At Summerly first opened for play in 2008. This 7,012 yard par-72 course was designed by Cal Olson.
Situated between Southern California's largest natural lake, Lake Elsinore, the Ortega Mountains and the Cleveland Natural Forest, the Links at Summerly fits seamlessly into the landscape - incorporating natural mounding, pristine rolling terrain and three miles of Scottish-style burns to provide the look and feel of traditional links-style courses of the British Isles. Kidney-shaped bunkers abound, while numerous twists and turns will challenge golfers of all skill levels to use every club in their bag in order to navigate this breathtaking masterpiece.
The Links at Summerly encourages golfers to walk - a novelty at daily fee courses. "We believe walking has been neglected as part of the golf experience during the past decade," says Tom Frost, President of Tom Frost Golf, the company that will manage the Links at Summerly. "Walking brings out the true essence of the game, allowing golfers to not only enjoy the extraordinary natural setting, but also gain a better understanding and appreciation for the many course design nuances that make the layout so unique. These are things that can only be experienced by walking the course the way golfers did when the game was first introduced."

Need to get the fairways up to par. And the greens had hydraulic fluid on them from the roller or cutter.

Summerly is a great place for short game practice. They have two large greens for bunker, chipping, and putting work. The range has grass tees, but you hit into an area without grass. Also of note, this course becomes windy and hot in the late afternoons.

Winter conditions. I want to come back and play after it warms up and this course is green again. I think it is a great layout and when conditions are good, will be all excellent ratings. Give it a try. Very challenging, especially if its cold and windy.

Great course, the layout is challenging and the price is great! This is one of my favorite courses. Great restaurant in the Clubhouse. One word of caution, watch the GPS on the carts for the burns. Some holes require a layup off of the tee with a long iron or hybrid.

The "Burns" in the middle of the fairways are unfair. Many slpoe toward the actual ditch which is lined with rocks. Goos drives were in the ditches

Most courses overseed during the winter months. However, Summerly prefers to do it the way they do it in the British Iles and dye there fairways green. I'm guessing that's not really the way the do it on the other side of the pond, but am not necessarly opposed to such a practice. Kinda a bummer thought being how well the course recovered from last winters beating it took and was looking pretty good this summer to be dyed green for the holidays. At any rate, like this track, althougt it can play slow at times. The greens were looking a little worn thought, but for the $39 I paid, it's worth a play.

This llinks course was a nice change the local area courses. Greens were amazingly fast for this time of year. Our group had a great time out on the course.

This is probably the closest one comes to playing a links style course in all of Southern California. It is a fair course, with a good layout, but one that is not playable week in and week out. The style of play is one that encourages one to return, but not on a regular basis. It is more difficult that one first imagines.

One of my favorite courses. You hace to think on almost every shot. Any uncertainty or hesitation will nail you on this course.

Some areas still recovering from the flooding that occurred early in the year, but that does not adversely affect playing. Greens are in very good condition, rolling fast, true and challenging because of their undulations. My first time playing here, and now that I have a better idea of where the trouble spots are, e.g., the burns, I look forward to playing it again. Staff throughout the course is friendly and courteous. The abundance of the wild life on the course, avian in particular, is a big plus as well.

Played with trhee great friends. The LINKS course is great. After playing 108 courses last year in 96 days in a row. Mar.22 to June 25th.in all 48 of our great United States, this course is right among the top, and should have been on my California list. Nick k. The Happy Golfer.

I enjoyed the course and will certainly play again soon with a better understanding of the layout and the burns.

Great course. Inland links at its best. If you don't know what a burn is, find out before you go. If you enjoy bump and run, this is the course for you.

Fun...Fun...Fun. Bring your own GPS for a little better read on the trouble that is often found in the fairways. PLEASE fix the green as you play so the course continues to be in GREAT condition. Hard to stop the ball if you land on green. Really good value and a fun course!!

Great links-style fun, especially at British Open time. Very reasonably priced and in excellent condition. There were two drawbacks during my experience though. It was in excess of 100 degrees, the beverage cart was sent home because of light play and there was only one water station on each 9. There was also no pictures of the hole or where to hit the ball off the tee. GPS gave yardages to hazards (trust them and play accordingly), but seeing the stated hazards off some of the tees was difficult. The yardage book would probably be a good investment for the first time player. Will definitely go back.

Excellent links-style challenge. BIG TIP: pony up 8 bucks extra for the yardage book. It will show you the layout MUCH better. Fairways are new and roll, roll, roll, right into a burn if you don't watch out. Otherwise, very cool, interesting layout, different than most courses. I'm going back soon. I think I can tame this course with a little strategy.

just not used to playing a links style course with so many blind obstacles ie byrnes and the like. good drives in the fairway end you in trouble which took the fun out of my round

Excellent track, scottish style links with a burn coming into play on 14 holes. Great layout, good challenge.

Greens very firm and nothing flat about them. Watch out for the many channels that run across the majority of fairways...Good drives or second shots don't necessarily mean a good result!!! ))

There was no grass on the fairways. Playing mostly from dirt and a small amount of dry grass. This is the worst course I have ever played. Disappointed in golf now for selling tee times.
